Joint Virtual Luncheon with the OCBA: 19th Amendment: A Different Perspective

October 22, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join the Orange County Bar Association and the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers for “The 19th Amendment: A Different Perspective.”

As you know, this year marked the centennial celebration of the passage of the 19th amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women’s constitutional right to vote – but that right wasn’t immediately enjoyed by everyone.

A panel of academic scholars and other notable guests will discuss the significance of this passage as the largest expansion of democracy in the history of our country, including the role of minority women in the suffrage movement.

Panelists:

  • Kenicia Wright, Assistant Professor, University of Central Florida School of Politics, Security and International Affairs
  • Danaya C. Wright, Professor of Law, University of Florida Levin College of Law

Moderator: Mayanne Downs, Esq., Shareholder and General Counsel, Gray Robinson
