Originally from Miami, Alena Baker is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned a double major in Criminology and Sociology (and a minor in French). She then earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. Upon graduation from law school, Alena moved back to Florida and began working as an Assistant Public Defender in the 9th Judicial Circuit until opening her own practice in 2013. Alena is a solo practitioner focusing (almost) exclusively on criminal cases. Beyond CFAWL, Alena is a member – and Past-President – of the Criminal Law Committee of the Orange County Bar Association. In the little free time she has, Alena likes to volunteer at her childrens’ elementary school, where she currently serves as the PTA President for the 2023-2024 school year.  Alena also plays tennis for a C2 league.
