CFAWL is overjoyed to announce that it has been selected by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers as the Outstanding Chapter of the Year!
The Outstanding Chapter Award is presented annually to the FAWL chapter that has most effectively created and expanded programming and events that further FAWL’s mission and encourage members to become leaders; gained exposure and recognition in the community; promoted diversity in the workplace, the practice of law, and/or in the community; and consistently participated in FAWL.
When the pandemic hit last March, CFAWL quickly pivoted to provide frequent opportunities for members to stay connected – even in the virtual setting we found ourselves in. We participated in virtual events statewide and encouraged our membership to take advantage of the benefits they received through FAWL. We continued our virtual programming into the new CFAWL year and had a strong showing at FAWL’s Lobby Days, where we secured meetings with legislators across the state to promote FAWL’s lactation bill and we enjoyed a happy hour with members of our sister chapters to compare notes about what we had learned. We shared our stories, learned from speakers across the state, and used our resources to support our community.
All in all, we engaged, and it took all of us to stay with it! We are so honored for FAWL’s recognition of our chapter’s efforts! Congrats to our Board of Directors, Leadership Team, and all our active members for helping us share our story this year, even beyond the boundaries of Central Florida, and thanks to FAWL for this wonderful recognition!
